The Challenge: No Time for Theory
Candid’s internal trainers are experts in their fields, but they did not always share a consistent foundation in instructional design principles. They needed to improve their skills without the burden of long courses. Busy schedules meant that a 45-minute eLearning module or additional meetings would not work.
The Strategy: Ruthless Editing and Scenario Design
I utilized 7taps to enforce a microlearning structure. The rule for this build was to focus on one core idea per module to eliminate cognitive load. Instead of presenting dry definitions, I created scenario-based prompts.
The Execution: Built for Flexibility
As the end-to-end designer, I scoped, wrote, and built the entire series. Every module used learner-first framing to establish why the topic mattered within the first few seconds. I structured the architecture to be modular.
The Outcome and Next Steps
While the full series was drafted, my role ended before the formal launch. The architecture and design approach serve as a clear example of effective microlearning execution.
If I were continuing this project today, my next steps would include iterating based on gathered data, implementing reflection prompts to measure mindset shifts, and adapting modules for new staff members.
